Why Waterjet

(1)Low Cost.
Our abrasive water jet machining center uses your existing DXF files. No costly dies, fixtures, or elaborate CNC programs required.

(2)No Minimum.
Low startup costs allow for inexpensive, highly accurate production for quantities as small as one item.

(3)Fast Turnaround.
Working from your drawings eliminates the need to wait for dies or fixtures.

(4)High Accuracy
Cuts are accurate within ±0.005".

(5)Smooth, Flat cuts.
Water jet cuts are smooth, similar to a fine sandblasted finish. Flexible materials cut with less taper than cuts made through die cutting.

(6)No Heat Buildup.
Materials like glass, rubber, and plastic will not melt during the cutting process. No melting, no heat affected areas, no structural changes.

(7)Cuts just about anything.
Jet machining is capable of cutting just about anything.

(8)Less Waste.
"Parts nesting" provides optimum use of sheet materials, reducing scrap.

COMPARE WATERJET MACHINING TO OTHER PROCESSES:
Process Part Cost * Part Precision * Part Turnaround * Material Type Restrictions Material Distortions or Stresses Cut Quality
Jet Machining -- 0.005" -- no no smooth
Laser higher higher under 0.5" thick faster on thin materials yes yes rough
Wire EDM higher higher 75% slower yes yes smooth
Plasma Cutting lower lower faster yes yes rough
Flame Cutting lower lower faster yes yes rough
Punch Press higher on short runs similar slower yes yes burred edges
* compared to waterjet machining.
